Terms and Conditions


 1. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, sex or gender. The minimum age of participants is 18, unless accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them. There is no maximum age. 

2. It is your responsibility to check the reservation and ensure that the particulars contained therein  are correct. 

3. All travel arrangements are your responsibility and at your own cost. Gaudium Retreats shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from delays or cancellations in any of the companies you may have made arrangements with, or for any irregularities in your documentation required for travel. Transfers to/from the retreat are included in the price of the retreat, for only the specific outbound and inbound flights stated in the Retreat Info file and on Gaudium Retreats website. 

 4. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all the relevant travel documentation and arrive at the airport in time for the transfer from/to the airport. 

5. Gaudium Retreats is not held liable for flight costs.

6. The participant shall pay Gaudium Retreats a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of £200 for each person named in the reservation. 

 7. The participant shall pay the full balance to Gaudium Retreats not less than 2 months prior to the date of departure, unless stated otherwise. Bookings within the last 2 months must be paid in full at time of booking. Payment can be made by BACS transfer to Gaudium Retreats. Account details will be given at time of booking. 

8. If payment of either the deposit or the balance is not received by the due date, Gaudium Retreats reserves the right to cancel the reservation, retain the deposit and transfer your place on the retreat to another person. 

9. Gaudium Retreats reserves the right to offer discretionary discounts and this does not affect the status of any guests who have paid the full price and no discount will then become due to them. 

10. Your booking is not considered definite and no contract will exist between you and Gaudium Retreats until we receive full payment from you. 

11. The participant shall not use the accommodation for any offensive, noisy, dangerous or illegal entertainment of immoral or improper purposes. The participant shall not do anything that may be a nuisance or annoyance to Gaudium Retreats, hotel guests, staff or owners. 

12. Gaudium Retreats reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate use of the hotel or any of its facilities by the partcipant in the event of any breach of these terms and conditions. The participant will be required to vacate the property and Gaudium Retreats shall not refund payment or accept any liability for damages or loss. 

13. It is your responsibility to have travel insurance. It should cover you for any activity proposed in the yoga retreat you book as well as cancellation, sickness, losses and all the usual risks. 

14. You should bring the policy with you in the case of an emergency. 

15. Whilst all measures are taken to ensure a high standard of health and safety, our retreats are often situated in the countryside, and we shall not be responsible for any injuries caused by nature or the environment. 

 16. Please be sure to advise us of any health conditions before you book. We reserve the right to decline your place on a Gaudium Retreat if a health condition is deemed a contraindication to the yoga retreat programme. We request that anyone wishing to attend a retreat, with such a condition, consult his or her registered GP before attending. In certain cases we may ask for a letter from your GP to confirm that you are well enough to participate in the retreat. 

17. If you do not advise us of your health conditions we reserve the right to cancel your booking and your payment is forfeit. If you have health conditions that may be affected by the activities offered by Gaudium Retreats we reserve the right to advise you to desist in the interests of your wellbeing. 

18. If you have a problem during your retreat, please inform one of the Gaudium Retreats team member immediately and we will endeavour to help and put things right. 

 19. None of the health information provided at Gaudium Retreats is medical advice. 

20. No refunds will be made for failure to complete the retreat. 

21. Once you have booked your Gaudium Retreat your deposit is non-refundable. In the event that you need to cancel your retreat, the following refund policy applies. 

22. Cancellation more than 60 days before the start date of the retreat: full refund minus deposit. 

 23. Cancellation less than 60 days before the start date of the retreat: No refund, at our discretion we may put the balance paid towards another retreat package. 

24. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a retreat for any reason, you will receive a full refund. However, we are not able to cover additional travel expenses or take responsibility for any consequential expenses incurred as a result of any cancellation. Please get a travel insurance policy that will protect you should you or Gaudium Retreats need to cancel. 

25. Due to teacher cancellations or other situations beyond our control, Gaudium Retreats reserves the right to change bookings and shall inform the participant as soon as possible. Alternative arrangements will be offered but we do not accept responsibility for any costs incurred, including airfare. 

26. Occasionally, changes may have to be made (e.g. yoga teacher, class times), which Gaudium Retreats reserve the right to do at any time. Changes are usually minor and you will be advised at the earliest possible date. 

27. Our liability to you
 We accept responsibility for ensuring that the retreats are supplied as described and that the services we are contractually obliged to provide are to a reasonable standard. We do not accept any liability for cancellations, delays or changes caused by war, the threat of war, terrorist actions or threats, closure of airports, civil strife, industrial action, natural disaster, technical problems to transport, staff cancellations, disruption of programme, unforeseen changes in your personal circumstances or other events beyond our control. We are not liable for any injuries you may incur. Yoga classes and other retreat activities are undertaken at your own risk. We are not liable for any medical or psychiatric conditions that may develop during or subsequent to the retreat. We are not liable for loss of, or damage to, your personal property. We are not responsible for the proportion of male/female guests in any group. We are not responsible for the individual behaviour of any guest. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the premises at our discretion if your behaviour is disruptive or abusive. 

28. Legal Disclaimer 
The information contained in this Site is for general guidance on matters of interest only. 29. Privacy Policy 
Gaudium Retreats takes email privacy very seriously. Any personal information that you provide to Gaudium Retreats will be used only for the services requested and will not be passed on to any third party. Gaudium Retreats does not store credit card details. This privacy policy does not cover the links within this site linking to other sites.
